World History (Ms.Garvin)
My world history teacher is Ms.Garvin and she attended Purdue University. When I first started this class I expected to learn learn about geography, the continents, ancient art, customs, religions, and inventions. I expected to learn about ancent Europe and Asia and what it took to make them the continents they are today. As of the third marking period we have learned about enlightenments, the scientific revolution, the industrial revolution, the French revolution, and various wars.

Ms.Garvin's teaching policy is rather similar to all of my other teachers. She puts testes and quizzes in as 45% of our grade.Then she puts projects in as 45% of our grade as well. Lastly, our homework and classwork goes in as 10% of my grade.Some interseting aspects of the class are all of the ancient history we learn and we are going to the Metropolitan Mueseum on Thursday! We also learn how the ideas back then influence us now.

We also use a couple of online resources to study together as a class. Technology is used in class because we go to the lab a lot for online projects. We use websites such as Piazza, wiki, sweet search, and voice threads. I like that we are given the option of technology as well as written research to study. This is an interesting class, and I know that I am learning a lot.

Feeling glum, happy, aroused? New technology can detect your mood

For the drivers' who have stress, the vehicle's coordinated sensors could soften the light and music, or broaden the headlight beams to help for the loss of vision. A distressed state could be broadcast as a warning to other motorists by changing the color of the vehicle's paint. AutoEmotive, a research project from the Affective Computing group at MIT's media lab, are focusing on exploring the potential of emotional connections with humans' and their machines.

spelling city

The tool i am using is spelling city! The subject i can use it for is Mr.Bogert's language arts class. I will specifically use this t enhance my vocabulary and improve the way i write.It will help me, and example is and upcoming spelling test. I can use it to study instead of just plain old writing it down. i think this tool is great!

OoVoo brings 'party-line' video chat to iPad, Facebook

The company, whose name represents two sets of eyes looking at each other, lets users access video chat rooms from the iPhone and Android phone over Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G LTE as well as via Web and desktop apps. The desktop apps allow up to 12-way chat, screen sharing and sharing of files up to 25 megabytes. I think this is a very cool new exciting way to contact your friends other than calling or texting outside of school!

Bing gets more social about search with its makeover

Microsoft's Bing is taking an in-your-Facebook approach to search with a big over all to incorporate the expertise of the people in your social networking circle.

 "Over the coming weeks, we will be introducing a brand new way to search designed to help you take action and interact with friends and experts without compromising the core search experience."

Keeping its relationship with Facebook, Microsoft will be introducing a series of changes to its search offering by mining the expertise of your connections on the social networking site. The hope is to personalize the search experience to make it more like Bing aims to pull users from behemoth Google.

Spotify app comes to iPad -- finally!

The long-awaited Spotify app for iPad is here.

The paid streaming music service's 17 million tracks are now available to Apple's tablet users. The iPad app, Version 0.5.0 of Spotify's iOS app, is iPad-3-ready with Retina graphics and high-definition album art. Users can search for playlists, other subscribers and music from the same view.
I Users can sign up for a 30-day trial. After that, it's $10 a month to keep the music streaming.
